Dale Vince, you lecture everyone about saving the planet while running Ecotricity and donating to Labour, yet you called new North Sea drilling a betrayal of millions back in April. Fast forward to August and you're on Newsnight casually saying you're up for Rosebank and Jackdaw as long as ministers slap price controls on wholesale energy. You even asked Ed Miliband to honour the manifesto, then you post the clip yourself with a smiley emoji like it's a cute rebrand. This is a new approach to North Sea oil and gas, you claim, because if we burn the stuff we might as well produce it here and save money. "I'm up for it." Real principled stuff there. You spent years acting like fossil fuels were the devil until the moment they became politically useful again. Nothing says climate emergency like a convenient U-turn with a grin. When the green tycoon starts pitching controlled drilling from the studio desk, the ideology has clearly met the utility bill. The manifesto only seems sacred until the gas market starts talking back.
